A-Energy uses neural networks in exploratory drilling

Specialists of the Scientific and Technical Center of the company together with several industry universities have created a learning program that allows predicting the properties of rocks in new fields.

The implementation of the project will save the company’s funds by optimizing the number of studies and improving the quality of forecasting.

The only possibility of physical exploration of the field’s rocks is to deliver its sample – the core (the section) from the depth of several thousand meters in the process of exploratory drilling. Today, this expensive procedure is practically the only way for the presence of hydrocarbons detection in the formation. Due to the new unique program, it’s become possible to predict rock properties in new fields without new core sampling. From now on, A-Energy specialists will be able to analyze the “digital counterparts” of the sections, assembled into a single self-learning database, combining the entire accumulated experience of the company’s exploratory drilling.
