The profit of the Chinese oil company PetroChina, the country’s largest producer of oil and natural gas, increased by more than 12% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2023. According to Xinhua, the net profit of shareholders exceeded 43.5 billion yuan (about 6.3 billion dollars).
The corporation’s report, filed with the Shanghai Stock Exchange, indicates an increase of 0.24 yuan in the underlying profit for each share. It is reported that before the May Day holidays, on the last trading day, the value of PetroChina shares increased by 5.2%, reaching 7.89 yuan for each security.
