The Crogga gas field to become one of the largest fields in the East Irish Sea basin
Crogga Limited based in the Isle of Man, has signed a contract with Aberdeen-based energy service company THREE60 Energy to drill a well at a gas field in the Irish Sea.
The evaluation well 112/25a-2 was named Independence. This is the first well to be drilled under the jurisdiction of the island.
In case of successful development, Independence Crogga will become one of the largest deposits in the East Irish Sea basin, and the Isle of Man will receive energy independence by 2026. THREE60 Energy will manage the turnkey project, including detailed well drilling design, drilling rig contracts, offshore operations, and project closure. The company converted part of its payments for the operation of the Independence well into shares of Crogga Limited.
The Crogga gas field is located on the Maughold Head shelf in the northeast of the Isle of Man.
